TALLAHASSEE, FL- A Leon County Jail correctional officer is recovering from facial fractures after was attacked by an inmate.

The sheriff’s department says officer Kenneth Meade was injured around 10 a.m. Saturday.

Another inmate helped to stop the attack by Vickers, who the sheriff’s office describes as a mentally ill inmate.
