SUMMARY:Alabama Basic Corrections (ABC) Academy - Live Training (Session #1)
DESCRIPTION:Recognizing the need to provide legal-based\, quality training for line level staff throughout the state of Alabama\, Alabama Jail Administrators’ Council (AJAC) and National Institute for Jail Operations (NIJO) developed the Alabama Basic Corrections Academy. ABC Academy offers 72 hours of training combining online (pre-requisite) training with live training taught by some of the top experts in corrections. \nThere are two live sessions being offered this year.  Session #1 of the live portion of the ABC Academy\, will take place May 8-10\, 2023\, in Pell City\, AL\, and will offer 37 credit hours of legal-based training developed by AJAC in partnership with NIJO. \nTopics covered include: \n\nUse of Force (22 Hours)\nHandcuffing\, inmate searches\nTaser and Chemical Aerosol\nUse and Application of Restraints\nDefensive Tactics\nUse of Force\nDecision Management (11 Hours)\nDecision Making\nDe-Escalations Skills\nFirst Aid / CPR\nGender Responsive Issues\nSurvival Mindset / Hostage Response\nStaff Offender Relations\nManaging Mentally Ill Population\nCommunication Skills (4 Hours)\nReporting Writing/Documentation\nInterpersonal Communication\n\n* Attendees must complete the online training sessions prior to attending the live session. \n  \n[aio_button align=”center” animation=”none” color=”red” size=”small” icon=”none” text=”REGISTER” relationship=”dofollow” url=”https://www.eventsquid.com/event/19972″] \n  \nDownload flyer here
