The Alabama Jail Training Academy offers legal-based jail training curriculum developed by the National Institute for Jail Operations, with advice and assistance from the Alabama Sheriffs Association and the ACCA Liability and Workers’ Compensation Insurance Funds.
Instructors will be jail officers from around the state who have been trained by the National Institute for Jail Operations (NIJO).
This quarterly, hands-on training meeting is specifically created for all Jail Administrators in Alabama with the support of the Alabama Sheriffs’ Association. If the Jail Administrator cannot attend, they can send the next ranking jail official. Council meetings will rotate around the state to encourage and include participation from all Alabama jail administrators. Training topics will be selected by AJAC leadership using the best instructors in the country available on those subjects. NIJO is proud to assist AJAC in any administrative functions to ensure its success.
