ARIZONA JAIL TOUR - 2022

NIJO Honors Corrections Professionals Across the Country during NCO Week 2022

1st Stop - Gila County Sheriff's Office

Rebecca's first stop on the Arizona Jail Tour to honor corrections professionals during National Corrections Officers Week, was Gila County, AZ. 

Major Dennis Newman welcomed Rebecca and is not pictured because he was kind enough to take this photo.

2nd Stop - Graham County Sheriff's Office

2nd Stop on the Arizona Jail Tour was Graham County Sheriff's Office where Rebecca presented the Corrections Appreciation Plaque to Jail Commander Mike Cochran.

3rd Stop - Greenlee County Sheriff's Office

Rebecca's 3rd Stop on the Arizona Jail Tour was Greenlee County Sheriff's Office.

4th Stop - Cochise County Sheriff's Office

4th Jail Visit on Rebecca's tour was Cochise County Sheriff's Office where she was able to present the NCO Plaque to Lt. Christie Heisner and Deputy A. Cruz.

5th Stop - Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office

The 5th stop on the Arizona Jail Tour was Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office where Rebecca was able to meet with Sergeant  Sgt. John Marquez and Sgt. D. Monreal.

6th Stop - Pima County Sheriff's Office

Rebecca's 6th stop on the Arizona Jail Tour was the Pima County Sheriff's Office where she presented the NCO plaque to Corrections Sgt. Eduardo Estrada.

7th Stop - Pinal County Sheriff's Office

The 7th stop on Rebecca's NCO Week tour of Arizona Pinal County Sheriff's Office where she presented the NCO plaque to Captain Darrin Rushing.

8th Stop - Apache County Sheriff's Office

On her 8th stop, Rebecca visited Apache County Sheriff's Office, where she met Sgt. Chris McCarthy who just happens to currently be pursuing NCCS Certification through NIJO.  Sgt. McCarthy also owns a restaurant in St. John’s, AZ, that will be feeding officers from Apache County lunch and dinner in recognition of National Corrections Officer Appreciation Week.

9th Stop - Navajo County Sheriff's Office

The 9th Stop for Rebecca was the Navajo County Sheriff's Office where she presented the NCO Plaque to Deputy Chief Ernie Garcia and Admin Lt. Dennis Warren.

10th Stop - Coconino County Sheriff's Office

11th Stop - Yavapai County Sheriff's Office

Next stop for Rebecca was the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office where she presented the NCO Plaque to Captain Rich Martin.

12th Stop - Mohave County Sheriff's Office

Rebecca's 12 visit was to the Mohave County Sheriff's Office where she presented the NCO Plaque to Corporal Ryan Belcher.

13th Stop - La Paz County Sheriff's Office

The 13th stop was the La Paz County Sheriff's Office where she met  Jail Commander, Lt. Michelle Norris and presented the NCO Plaque.

14th Stop - Yuma County Sheriff's Office

On her 14th stop, Rebecca was able to visit with a large group of officers at the Yuma County Sheriff's Office.  It was great to meet so many great individuals!

15th Stop - Maricopa County Sheriff's Office

Rebecca's 15th stop was the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office where she presented the NCO Commemorative Plaque to Lt. Dino Graffious and Jail Commander Jessie Spurgin.

16th Stop - SRPMIC Jail

Rebecca's 16th, and final, stop on her Arizona tour was the Salt River Pima Maricopa Indian Community Department of Corrections.  There she met Lt. Stacie Mitchell and Sgt. James Regan.  Fortunately, her timing was great and she was able to present the plaque to the entire shift that was coming on while they were in their shift briefing.  It was a great way to end her whirlwind tour of Arizona!
